Mrs. Hettie Lou Anderson,
82, who died Friday, Oct.
4, in Gastonia, were held at
4 pjn. Monday in Valleytown
Funeral Building.

and burial was in Valleytown

morial Hospital at Andrews
one night last week with a dead
wild mallard duck, a 16-stitch
cut on his head and a story,
strange but true. Seems he
was driving from Andrews to
Robbinsville when the duck
crashed through his wind
shield, inflicting the cut. Mr.
Crisp is a butcher at J. J.
Snider's store in Robbins -
ville.

weather has produced more
early color than usual. The

Andrews Town Board
Sets SI 30,000 Bond
Election For Nov. 16
ANDREWS - In a meeting
here Monday night the Town
Board of Aldermen voted to
set Nov. 16 as the date for a
$130,000 bond election to fin
ance the town's portion of a
new sewage system and dis
posal plant, an extension and
enlargement of the town's
water supply system, and a
new recreation center.
The breakdown on the a
mount of the money needed
for each item was listed as
follows:
(70,000 for the sewage
system improvements.
$25,000 for the water sys
tem improvements.
$25,000 for the recreation
center.
Three fourths of the money
for all the projects is being
provided through grants from
the federal government.
In order to receive the
grants, voters in the city
limits must approve the town's
$130,000 portion.
Registration books will be
open from Fri., Oct, 26, until
Saturday, Nov. 2,wlththefinal
day listed as challenge day.
Mrs. Cleve Almond will be
registrar for the election
which will be held at City
Hall.
