IZING THE ISSUANCE OF
$80,000 OF BONDS OF THE
TOWN OF MURPHY FOR THE
EXTENSION AND ENLARGE
MENT OF THE WATER SUP
PLY SYSTEM OF THE TOWN.
BE IT ORDAINED by the
Board of Commissioners of
the Town of Murphy, as fol
lows:
Section 1. The Board of
Commissioners of the Town
of rfurphy has ascertained
and hereby determines that
it is necessary that said Town
extend and enlarge the water
supply system maintained by
the Town to provide a supply
of water to said Town and its
Inhabitants by the construct
ion of a ground storage re
servoir, the extension or water
mains, the installation of hy
drants and meters and the ac
quisition and installation of
equipment, machinery and ap
paratus required therefor, In
cluding the acquisition of any
lands or rights-in-land
required therefor.
Section 2. Said Board of
Commissioners has also as
certained and hereby deter
mines that the purpose here
inbefore described is a
necessary expense of said
Town within die meaning of
Section 7 of Article VII of the
Constitution of North Car -
ollna, and is a purpose for
which said Town may raise or
appropriate money, and is not
a current expense of said
Town.
Section 3. In order to
provide funds for such pur
pose, in addition to any funds
which may be made available
for such purpose from any
other source, bonds of the
Town of Murphy are hereby
authorized and shall be Is
sued pursuant to The Munici
pal Finance Act, 1931, of North
Carolina. The maximum ag
gregate amount of bonds au
thorised by this ordinance
shall be Eighty Thousand Dol
lars (980,000).
Section 4. A tax sufficient to
pay the principal of and in
terest on said bonds shall be
annually levied and collected.
Section 6. A statement of the
debt of said has been filed with
the Town Clerk and Treasur
er of said Town, as required
by said Act, and is open to
public inspection.
Section 6. This ordinance
shall take effect when approv
ed by the voters of said Town
at an election to be called and
held as provided in said Act.
The foregoing bond ordi
nance was passed on the 14th
day of October, 1963, and was
first published on the 17th of
October, 1963.
Any action or proceeding
questioning the validity of said
ordinance must be commenced
within thirty days after its
first publication.

The board of commis
sioners of Cherokee County,
North Carolina, met in regular
session on October 7, 1963.
At 10:00 a an. the hearing for
the Bond Order was held,
approved.
The Clerk reported to the
Board that the bond order en
titled "Bond Order authoriz
ing the issuance of $30,000
School Refunding Bonds of the
County of Cherokee", which
had been introduced on Sept
ember 3, 1963, had been pub
lished in the Cherokee Scout
on Sept. 26, 1963, with notice
that the Board of Commis
sioners would hold a public
hearing hereon on October 7,
1963, at 10:00 o'clock a?m.
L. N. Cole moved that the
Board proceed to hold a pub
lic hearing on the bond order.
The motion was seconded by
W. T. Moore and was un -
animously adopted.
At 10:00 o'clock, A. M., the
Chairman announced that the
Board would hear any citizen
or taxpayer who desired to be
heard with respect to the bond
order. At the direction of the
Chairman the Clerk read the
bond order and the published
notice of hearing.
After the Board had heard
all persons who requested to
be heard, L. N. Cole moved
that the public hearing be
closed. The motion was sec
onded by W. T. Moore and was
unanimously adopted.

County Finance Act in the
Cherokee Scout, a newspaper
published In the Town of Mur
phy in said County, and 'such
publication shall be made in
the manner prescribed by The
County Finance Act.

seconded by W. T. Moore, it

AN ORDINANCE AUTHOR
IZING THE ISSUANCE OF
$215,000 OF BONDS OF THE
TOWN OF MURPHY FOR THE
RECONSTRUCTION, EXTEN
SION AND ENLARGEMENT
OF THE SANITARY SEWER
SYSTEM OF THE TOWN.
BE IT ORDAINED by the
Board of Commissioners of
the Town of Murphy, as fol
lows:
Section 1. The Board of
Commissioners of the Town
of Murphy has ascertained and
hereby determines that it is
necessary that said Town re
construct, extend and en
large the sanitary sewer sys
tem maintained by the Town
by the reconstruction of sew
age collection lines and the
construction of a sewage
treatment plant, including die
installation of interceptor
sewers, outfall lines and
pumping stations, together
with theacquisition and instal
lation of the equipment, mach
inery and apparatus required
therefor and the acquisition
of any lands or rights-in-land
necessary therefor.
Section 2. Said Board of
Commissioners has also as
certained and hereby deter
mines that the purpose here
inbefore described is a
necessary expense of said
Town within the meaning of
Section 7 of Article VII of
the Constitution of North
Carolina, and is a purpose for
which said Town may raise or
appropriate money, and is not
a current expense of said
Town.
Section 3. In order to pro
vide funds for such purposes,
in addition to any funds which
may be made available for
such purpose from any other
source, bonds of the Town of
Murphy are hereby authoriz
ed and shall be issued pur
suant to The Municipal Fin
ance Act, 1921, of North
Carolina. The maximum ag
gregate amount of bonds
authorized by this ordinance
shall be Two Hundred Fifteen
Thousand Dollars ($215,000).
Section 4. A tax sufficient to
pay the principal of and int
erest on said bonds shall be
annually levied and collected.
Section 5. A statement of the
debt of said Town has been
filed with the Town Clerk and
Treasurer of said Town, as
required by said Act, and is
open to public inspection.
Section 6. This ordinance
shall take effect when approv
ed by the voters of said Town
at an election to be called and
held as provided in said Act.
The foregoing bond ordi
nance was passed on die 14th
day of October, 1963, and was
first published on the I7thday
of October, 1963.
Any action or proceeding
questioning the validity of said
ordinance must be commenced
within thirty days after its
first publication.
