This man loves trees and fruits, and has sold nursery stock for years and encourages others to plant trees for the future. He has also been an agent for tombstones and continues this work. He Is an ardent sports man and has a large eight room camp at Tullah Falls, where he spends part of the summer weekends fishing. He continues to drive his truck. Mrs. Shook's main interest has been taking care of a large family and she enjoys cooking and keeping house. She is 72. They both enjoy their children and grand - children stopping in to visit. They are the parents of ten living children who are: Mrs. Andrew Moore, Mrs. Letter Berrong, O'Dell Shook, Jack Shook, Mrs. Don Moore and Clarence Shook, all of Hayes - ville; Mrs. Lawrence Sim sers, Atlanta; Hayes Shook of Albany, Ga.; Odls Shook of Doraville, Ga.; and Mrs. Jos eph Cotton of Portsmouth, Va. They have twelve grand children and eight great grandchildren. Clay Health Center Has Ample Facilities HAYESVILLE - The new Clay County Health Center is open. It is a beautiful brick building located just above the Clay County jail. It has ample space to take care of the Health Department and future clinics. While assigned to Naval Mo bile Construction Battalion Nine, part of the naval con struction forces of the U. S. Pacific Fleet, he volunteered to join the technical assis tance team. After several months of rigorous training which included learning the Thailand language, he was as signed to the team. Now in central Thailand, the team Is engaged in teach ing Thais the operation of con struction equipment and is building a series of small earth dims and improving the roads the people need to de velop this Southeast Asian country, i . , .. Miss Morgan came to Hayesville in 1958, following her graduation from Western Carolina College. She Is a native of the Leicester area of Buncombe County, where her father has a Grade A Dairy. Mr. Scroggs and Mr. Woody are managers of Hayesville Farm and Egg Corp., a branch of Southern Poultry Co. E. M. Gray, president of the company, recognized both the Clay men as outstanding employees and commended them for their progress in 1963.
