STUTTGART, GERMANY
Army Specialist Four Charles
W. Nation, 22, son of Mr and
Mrs. Clyde Nation, Route 2,
Murphy, N. C. is participating
in Exercise SPRINGBOARD,
a two-week command post
training exercise with the Sev
enth U. S. Army at Stuttgart,
Germany, ending April 30.
The exercise is designed to
perfect standard operating
procedures and evaluate com
munication prodecures.
Specialist Nation, a truck
driver in the 109th Transp
ortation Company near Lud
wigsburg, entered the Army in
October 1959. He was last
assigned at Fort Jackson^.C.
Nation attended Murphy
High School.
Before entering the Army,
he was employed by Hughes
Esso Service Station in Mur
phy.
His wife, Wallym is with him
in Germany.
