Rev. Wildon A. Gill has joined
their staff on a full time basis and
will live in the living quarters of
the Townson Funeral Home In
Murphy. For the past three years
Rev. Gill has served as Minister
of the Andrews Free Methodist
Church and he will continue this
work. He is a native of Kentucky
and a graduate of the Kankakee
School of Illinois. He is a
Licensed Fineral Director.

ANDREWS - Mrs. Marsilla
Totherow, 80, of Blairsville,
Ga., Rt. 4, died in a Blair s
ville hospital Tuesday night,
May S, after a long illness.
She was born in the Aquone
section of Macon County, a
daughter of Strain and
Camellia Barnes Stephens.
Surviving are three daugh
ters, Mrs. Alaska Kendall and
Mrs. Verna White of Murphy,
and Mrs. Ruby Jones of
Blairsville; two sons, Floyd
T. of Hemp, Ga., and Garnett
Totherow of Blairsville; a
sister, Mrs. Zora White of
Murphy, Rt. 1; 20 grandchild
ren; 35 great-grandchildren,
and seven great-great-grand
children.
Services were held at 2 p.m.
Friday in Valleytown Baptist
Church.
The Rev. Leander Chastain
officiated and burial was in
Valleytown Cemetery.
Townson Funeral Home was
in charge.
MRS. JULIA ROGERS
ROBBINSVILLE ? Mrs.
Julia Robers, 79, a native
of Graham County, died in a
nursing home Thursday night.
May 7, at Boiling Springs
after a long illness.
She was a daughter of the
late Dave and Jane Rogers
Phillips. Her husband, H. A.
Rogers, died in 1931.
Survivors include three
sons, Willard D. Rogers of
Tullahoma, Tenn., John Bu
ford Rogers of Gettysburg,
Pa., and Benton Rogers of
Stanley, N.C.;onesister,Mrs.
Trixie Farr of Robbinsville;
and a number of grandchildren
great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 4p.m.

Home Chapel here.

years.

Ga., and Mrs. James Styles of
Asheville; a son, Noah John
son, Jr., of Nantahala; five

Newport, Tenn., Mrs. Martha
Cates and Mrs. Ruby Breeden
of Hartford, Tenn., Mrs. Tilda
Brown of Kings Mountain and
Mrs. Sarah Black of Lowell;

p.m. Thursday at Hayes ville

WHEAT SIGN-UP
May 15 is the final date for
signing up in the 1964 Wheat
Program. Farms that have
wheat bases on them are eli
gible for direct payments for
acres diverted from wheat
production to a conserving
use. Twelve and one-half per
cent of Cherokee County wheat
farmers have already signed
up. Other wheat fanners might
benefit from the program.
If interested, stop by the
ASCS Office for further infor
mation.
FEED - GRAIN
Reporters are presently
measuring feed - grain di
verted acreage until after Oct
ober 1.
The farms that these re
porters have visited could be
checked later on again by
other personnel.
Any unauthorized crops
growing on diverted acres will
be considered a violation of
the feed-grain contract.
