He was a native of Chero kee County, a son of the late John and Martha Peek Clonts, a veteran of World War I and husband of the late Mrs. Bertha Blanche Clonts. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mary George Wright; one daughter .Mrs. Leona Shu ler of Bryson City; four sons, Wade and Basil of Topton, and Howard and James Wroght of Oregon City, Ore.; five sis ters, Mrs. Arzalia Matheson of Atlanta, Mrs. Viola Crisp of Gainesville, Fla.; Mrs. Delia George and Mrs. Lula Lush of Topton, and Mrs. Florence Nichols of Valdese; four brothers, Rocell of Ashe ville, Dick, of Hendersonville, Ernest of Marion and Rush Wright of Topton; 15 grand children and eight great - grandchildren.
