Clonts, 73, of Murphy, Rt.
4, died early Friday, Nov. 6,
in a Murphy hospital follow
ing a brief illness.
He was a native of Chero
kee County, a son of the late
John and Martha Peek Clonts,
a veteran of World War I and
husband of the late Mrs.
Bertha Blanche Clonts.
Surviving are three daugh
ters, Mrs. Vegie Taylor erf At

Wright, 71, of Topton, died
Thursday, Nov. 5, in a Bry
son City hospital after a short
illness.
He was a native of Cherokee
County and was the son of the
late A. A. and Mrs. Ducella
Waters Wright, one of Western
North Carolina's pioneer
families.
Surviving are the widow,
Mrs. Mary George Wright;
one daughter .Mrs. Leona Shu
ler of Bryson City; four sons,
Wade and Basil of Topton,
and Howard and James Wroght
of Oregon City, Ore.; five sis
ters, Mrs. Arzalia Matheson
of Atlanta, Mrs. Viola Crisp
of Gainesville, Fla.; Mrs.
Delia George and Mrs. Lula
Lush of Topton, and Mrs.
Florence Nichols of Valdese;
four brothers, Rocell of Ashe
ville, Dick, of Hendersonville,
Ernest of Marion and Rush
Wright of Topton; 15 grand
children and eight great -
grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m.
Sunday in Red Marble Baptist
Church.
The Rev. J. B. Gregory and
the Rev. Clarence Adams of

church cemetery.

at 2 p.m. in Sweetwater Baptist
Church.
The Rev. Billy Ray Smith,
the Rev. Ruther Crisp and the
Rev. Hoyle Bridges officiated
and burial was in Old Mother
Cemetery.

Dies In Fla.

W. E. Neal of St. Petersburg,
Fla., and a summer resident
of Andrews, died on Monday
evening, Nov. 9, at 10:00 p.m.
in a St. Petersburg hospitaL
Services were held on Wed
nesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at
Pinellas Park, Fla.
The Neels moved to And
rews several years ago where
Mrs. Neel has been active in
church and civic affairs.
