LT. KENT L. LAUGHTER of Andrews continues to reap a harvest of athletic honors at Camp
Lejeune Marine Base, near Jacksonville, N. C. The latest trophy in Lt. Laughter's career was
presented to him as a member of the Base Championship football team. The Base newspaper, the
Globe, described the championship game as a victory due to "The defense, mastermined by K. L.
Laughter, which completely bottled up the opposition's attack." Lu Laughter is pictured above,

Marine officers has won other trophies in base tennis and softball competition. He is the son of

afternoon for a wedding cere
mony when Miss Sylvia Ruth
Bailey became the bride of
Robert Wayne Llvesay in the
presence of a large group of
friends and relatives.
The bride is the daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Mercer
Huckabee Bailey. She is the
niece of Mrs. Verna Tarking
ton and P. B. Ferebee of And
rews. The bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Edward Llvesay of Ports
mouth, Va.
Immediately following the
ceremony, Dr. and Mrs. Bail
ey entertained at a reception
in the ballroom of the Virgin
ia Dare Hotel.

Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown
of peau de satin designed with
an Empire bodice of handrun
Alencon lace, re-rebroidered
in crystals and pearls. It fea
tured a portrait neckline, and
elbow length sleeves.
The floor length semisheath
skirt, appliqued in lace medal
lions just above the hemline,
was accented with a detachable
chapel train which flowed from
a fabric bow centered with a
full blown silk rose. Her tier
ed veil of English illusion was
arranged from a crown of lace
looped pearls and crystals.
Her flowers were orchids,
roses, and setphanotis.
Miss Carol Smith was maid
of honor and only attendant.
She wore a floor length Mar
lin blue crepe dress fashion
ed with empire lines. She wore
a matching headdress and car
ried a nosegay of sweetheart
roses.
The father of the bride -
groom was best man. Ushers
were Roger Cockrell, Ronald
Blick, Richard Brookwell,
and James E. Butler of Ports

birth of Christ by Mrs. Faith

Mrs. Lillian Freel, the story
of Christmas by Mrs. Rosalind

"Joy to the World" was sung
by the group, with prayer by
Mrs. Alice Hogsed.
