Hensley , Former Murphy Resident, Dies MURPHY - Hugh E. Hensley, 46, died at his res idence at Carolina Beach, Wednesday, March 2 after a long illness. He was a native of Murphy and had lived in Carolina Beach for about five years. He was a son of Mrs. Vesta Nelson Hensley and the late Herbert Hensley. Mr. Hen sley was a veteran erf World War II and past commander of the Murphy VFW. He was the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. distributor in Murphy for 24 years prior to going to Car olina Beach. Also surviving are the widow, Mrs. Kate .Padgett Hensley; three sons, Hugh E. Jr., Terry and Chux of the home; one daughter. Miss Nancy Hensley of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Patricia Lehmann of Asheville, Miss Dorothy Hensley and Mrs. Mary Cathron Sneed, both of Murphy; and three brothers, Frank H. of The Dalles, Ore., Pryor Nelson of Kingston, Tenn., and William Edwin Hensley of Oak Rikge, Tenn,; and a half brother, James Hensley of Rossville, Ga. Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Murphy First Me thodist Church. The Rev. Clark Benson and the Rev. William J. Thomspon officiated and burial was in Sunset Cemetery.
