74, of Rt. 1 died In a local hos
pital, Saturday , July 9, fol
lowing a long Illness.
He was a native of Cook
County, Ga., and had lived In
Cherokee County for a number
of years. He was a son of the
late Jimmy and Cora Swlnt
Sanders, was a retired steam
fitter and a veteran of World
War 1.
Surviving are the widow,
Mrs. Faye Wilson Sanders and
a number of nieces and
nephews.
Services were held at
2:30 p.m. Monday In Peach
tree Methodist Church.
Rev. A1 Smith and
Rev. Lester Stowe officiated
and burial was in the church
cemetery.
Pallbearers were, Reid
White, BUI English, Bobby,
Johnny, Gerald, Bryant and
Clarence Wilson.

Gaha, 58, formerly of Hayes
ville, died Saturday night,
(July 9, in a Bristol, Tenu
' hospital after a brief Illness.
He was a son of Mrs. Sarah
Woodward McGaha and die
late J.M. McGaha, and was a
construction worker. He was
a World War 11 veteran and
a Mason.
Survivng besides the
mother are die widow, Mrs.
Nannie Roper McGaha; two
daughters, Judy and June Mc
Gaha of the home; four sisters,
Mrs. Nell Boyd and Mrs.
Willis Hogsed of Hayesville,
Mrs. Newton Penland of Oak
Ridge, Tenru, and Mrs. Claude
Woodard of Atlanta.
Services were held Tues
day at 2 pan. at Mt. Pleasant
Baptist Church.
Rev. Leonard McClure and
Rev. Jesse Bailey officiated
and burial was in Union Hill
cemetery. Masons of Clay
Lodge No. 301 conducted
graveside rites and nephews
were pallbearers.

4, died in a Murphy hospital
Thursday, July 7, alter a long
illness.
? Mrs. Nichols was a native of
Cherokee County, a daughter
of the late Taylor and Mary
Gibbs Fox and a member of the
Ranger Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter
Mr. J.H. Monteith of Ru 4,
five sons, Everett, Burl and
Bill Christopher, and Olivet
and Pledger Nichols, all ?f

two sisters, Mrs. W.O. Ro

was a member of Dooley Mas
onic Lodge.
Surviving are two sisters,
Mrs. Carrie Payne and Mrs.
Fred O. Scroggs ofBrasstown,
three brother, Bass of
Brasstown, Earl of Young
Cane, Ga., and Herman Arr
ant of Canton. Ohio; and a
number of nieces and nephews,
