WHO IS INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM? Head Start represents the drawing together of all res ources--tamily, community and professionals--which can contribute to the child's total development. People with professional skills in education, health, nutrition, psycho logy, social work and recreation play an important role in a Head Start Center. She, more than any other, determines the quality of the experiences these children have. Some say, "Anyone can teach young children", but nothing is further from the truth. Of all the ages of children probably the most chall enging are th pre-primary years. Each teacher has an assistant. These assistants are neighborhood residents or mothers of the preschool chil dren.
