Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Ricks spent Sunday afternoon in Jas per, Ga., While there they att ended the funeral of Mr. Rich ards, brother of the late Mrs. Oscar Hendricks. -M Mrs. Dessa Beaver Cook; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Clontz and Mrs. Do vie a Nelson, both of Murphy Mrs. J uanita Hedden and Mrs. Win ona Smith, both of Marietta, Ga.; four sons. Buford of Bl air svi lie, Ga., and Von, Clin ten and HiUer Cook all of of Marletu; a sisters, Mrs. Bertha Thomas of Culberson two brothers, Clarence of Bl airsvllle and Will Cook of Murphy; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Macedonia Baptist Church, of which >he was a member. The Rev. Ham Coffey, the Rev. Calvin Thompson and the Rev. Buel Thompson officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Towns on Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Dock Collins _ ROBBINSVILLE Dock Collins, 45, died in an Ashe ville hospital, Thursday mor ning, September 29, after a long illness. Mr. Collins was a native at Graham County, a son of Mrs. Artie Williams Collins and the late W.C. Collins. Surviving in addition to the mother, are three daughters, Mrs. Ruby TurpinofGastonia, Misses Linda and Shirley Col lins, and two sons, Jerry and Roger Collins, all of Alabama. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sell ers and Mrs. Flonie Carver, both of Robbinsville; a half sister, Mrs. Renie Carpenter of Robbinsville and four bro thers, Broadus, Dillard, WJ. and Ronald Collins all of Ro bbinsville. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Lone Oak Bap tist Church. The Rev. Gardner Birch field officated and burial was in the church cemetery. Townson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Library Board Elects Officers The Nantahala Regional Library Board met last week for the regular quarterly meeting and new officers were elected. W.A. Singleton was elected president and Merle David was elected Treasurer. The Regional Librarian, Mrs. Felix Palmer, acts as secre tary. Miss Phyllis Snyder, Sute Library Consultant, told the group that the three counties in the region could qualify for approximately 491$ of the cost of construction of a library building from the Library Ser vices and Construction Act Funds. Tom Day reported on the progress of the new library building in Clay County. It is the first to be constructed in this area with Library Ser vices and Construction Act Funds supplemented by Appa lachian Funds and local funds. Members of the Board at the meeting were W.A. Mrs. Sneed was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, a daughter of the late A.K. and Mrs. Mattie McLeod Dic key. Surviving are the husband Neil Sneed; a daughter, Mrs. Jane Colvard of Chattanooga, Tenn; three sisters, Mrs. Ma ble Smalley of Salinas, Calif., Mrs. Hattie Lou Montroy of Decatur, Ga., and Mrs. Helen Weeks of Lenoir; and two grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Murphy First Methodist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Thorton Hawkins pastor, and the Rev.
