Davis, soloist.
The bride, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Claude L. Brittain of
Rt. 4. Hickory, is a graduate
of George Hildebran High
School and Western Carolina
College Nop. She is presently
emploveJ b\ Mooresville City
School system as a First grade
teacher at l ark View School.
Davis is the son of Mr and
Mrs. Oscar Davis of Hickory,
formerly ot I'naka.He is a 1959
graduate of Murphx High
School andisetnplovedhySup
erior Cable Corporation.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride wore a white
formal gown designed with a
chantilly lace bodice over
plain taffeta with a sab-ina
neckline edged in bridescents
and seed pearls. The long
sleeves ended in wrist points
and the modified bell skirt
was scattered with lace app
liques. An aisle wide train
fell from a large bow and was
covered with lace appliques.
Her headpiece was a two
tiered veil of illusion which
fell from cabbage rose of off
white organdy. She carried a
single white orchid accented
by satin streamers and imita
tion wedding bell flowers.
Maid of honor w as Miss Br -
enda Crubb. She wore an em
erald green crepe floor length
gown with elbow length sleeves
and satin panels flowing from
the back waist. Her headpiece
was a matching satin bow att
ached to a circular veil and
she carried a cluster of red
carnations.
Bridesmaids were Miss
Shirley Davis and Mrs. Allen
Julian, sisters of the groom;
Miss Linday Boring of Hi
wassee Dam, Miss Janice
Bryant of Andrews and Miss
Jean Brittain sister of the
bride.
The bridesmaids wore dre
sses identical to that of the
honor attendant. They wore
matching headpieces and
carried a cluster of red car
nations. Each attendant wore
a single strand of pearls,
gifts of the bride.
James Davis, cousin of the
bridegroom, was best man.
Ushers were Eulan and Jerry
Brittain, brothers of the bride;
Ted Davis, cousin of the groom
Wesley Berry, brother-in-law
of the bride and J im F rankl -
in.
For her daughter's wedd
ing Mrs. Brittain wore a beige
suit trimmed in navy blue
with patent accessories and a
corsage of white carnations.
Mrs. Davis wore a green
wool dress with patent acc
essories and a corsage of
white carnations.
Wedding director was Mrs.
Barbara Huffman.
For travel the bride chan
ged into a blue wool dress with
black accessories. She wore
the orchid corsage lifted from
her bouquet.
After a wedding trip to Ok
lahoma City, the couple will
resid Huffman trailer

On Thursday evening the
couple was honored with a cake
cutting after the wedding re
hearsal In the Winkler'sGrove
Baptist Church fellowship
hall. The wedding party,
family and close friends att
ended.
The table was covered in
white with candles entwined
with vine at each end. A three
tiered wedding cake with
swan deviders and a minature
bride and groom was the cen
terpiece.
After the couple cutthetra
dtional first slice of cake,
Mrs. Corena Russel, sister
of the bridegroom completed
the serving. Mrs. Donna Davis
poured punch. Nuts and mints
were served.

bride's parents entertained
with a small reception at their
home
The bride is a graduate of
Murphy High School and is a
Junior at Grady Memorial
School of Nursing in Atlanta
where she will continue her
studies
The groom is a graduate of
West Fannin High School and
is employed with Atlanta Steel
Company of Atlanta, Ga.
The couple will reside at
443 Candler St., Atlanta.
THE CANDY STRIPERS are now in their fourth year of volunteer service at Providence hos
pital. Shown wrapping bandages are (I to r) Betty Sue Mann, Mary Ellen Nave and Donna Frank
um. After 25 hours of service, the Candy Striper is entitled to wear the red and white striped
apron when on duty and after 50 hours of service the volunteer is given a name pin. Fifteen local
school girls are presently working under the supervision of the nurses at Providence hospital.

The business session was

has purchased two 36-cup
coffee urns for the use of the
club and community and from
the program committee.
