Cross was driving a 1955 Pontiac. Johnny Winfrey ran second in a 1955 Ford and Benny Self placed third, also in a 1955 Ford. There were two 12-lap heat races. Mousey Conley and Marshall Martin won these events. Kids Catch 56 Trout THE CHEROKEE COUNTY RESCUE SQUAD took seven children on fishing trip to Hsrdln's Fish Pond at T opt on Sunday. The youngsters caught 56 fish. Rescue Squad mem bers furnished life jackets and refreshments. They baited hooks and looed after the safety of the children. School Superintendent John Jordan and Miss Leila Hayes.an elem entary schoolteacher, accompanied the group. Donations from local merchants made the trip possible.
