On Thursday, July 7, Glenn Hendrix and Julia S udder th of Peachtree, were happily mar ried at the home of their for mer pastor, Rev. A.B. Smith of Marble. Mr. Smith per forming the ceremony. This young couple are members of two of Peach tree's most prominent families and have many friends throughout this section whose best wishes are extended for a long and happy married life. Senior Citizens Hold Meetings ANDREWS ? The Senior Citizen Club met at the Co mmunity Center on Monday from 1 to 3 :30 p.m. Mrs. Ruth Cathy president, presided and gave the devotional. Mrs Lucy Laughter, co ordinator, gave patterns of fancy pot holders to members and assisted them with trays and decoupage. Plans for next meeting in cluded a demonstration of crochet cross, book marks to be given by Mrs. FloydQueen. Floyd Queen and Rellie Hall will assist members in pre paring wood for wall hangings. Eighteen attended including six new members. PEACHTREE --Mrs. Pearl Moore, member of the Peach tree Senior Citizen Club, little realized when she made a lovely hat from pine needles that it would be a source of enjoyment and entertainment for so many. Mrs. Moore is now making shoes and a bag from the need les. She presented the hat to Mrs. Lucy Laughter, co ordinator, at their regular meeting on Tuesday at the Peachtree school. Many have shared the hat and worn it. Later it will be sent to Raleigh for display. I MURPHY? The Hiwassee Dam Senior citizens met at the home of Mr. ad Mrs. A.L. Kilpa trick. A workshop on quilts, pot holders and cutting board was held. Davis-Holbrook Wedding Takes Place In Hickory Winklers Grove Baptist Church was the setting for the July 1 ceremony uniting Claudia Shirley Davis and Fredie Thomas Holbrook in Holy Matrimony. Rev. Fred Hicks performed the double ring ceremony. A program of wedding music was presented by Miss Kathy Glover. Shirley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Davis of Hfckory, former residents of Unaka. She attended Murphy High School and is a 1965 grad uate of Hickory High School. She is employed at Madaris Hoisery Mill. Tommy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Holbrook. He at tended Hickory school and is employed at Hickory Parlor Furniture. The bride was attired in a white street length dress with old fashioned lace sleeves and lace around the hem line. Her veil was of bridal illusion and satin bow with appliqued tear drops. She carried a nose gay of white mums with lily of the valley entwined in the streamers. Mrs. Allen Julian served as her sister's matron of honor. Her dress was street length with white over blue satin. Her head piece was a blue bow with white flowers entwined in blue streamers. She carried long stemmed white caranations. A cake cutting in honor of the couple was held Friday night in the fellowship hall of the Church. The cake was three tier with blue flowers and held a minature bride and groom.
