WOMEN Hattie Palmer - Society Editor - Phone 837-2385 Engagement Announced Mr. and Mrs. Gay Hawkins of Hiwassee Dam announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann, to James Richard Beddingfield, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Beddingfield of Black Mountain. The bride elect is a graduate of Western Carolina University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, and is presently teaching in Murphy, N. C. The future bridegroom is also a graduate of WCU where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and is presently in O.C.S. at Fort Benning, Georgia. The wedding will be in December. Peachtree PTA Halloween Carnival The Peachtree PTA will sponsor a Halloween Carnival Saturday night, October 26, at 7:30 p.m. A variety of games, bingo, country store, cake walks and refreshments is planned. : Mis Nancy Hensley of Marietta, Ga. was the weekend guest of her aunt.
