Robbinsville Defeats Bulldogs
In First Game Of Season
The Robbinsville Black
Knights scored a touchdown in
the fourth quarter Friday night
to defeat the Murphy Bulldogs
16 to 8 in a Smoky Mountain
Conference battle.
Dale Walsh, Robbinsville
halfback, scored both
touchdowns on runs of 10 and
74 yards to lead the Black
Knights to victory in the
opening game for both teams
Robbinsville took advantage
of the new two-point
conversion rule after both
scores
Walsh launched the Black
Knights to a 6 to 0 lead when
he sprinted 74 yards in the first
quarter. The two point
conversion resulted in a 8 to 0
lead for Robbinsville.
The first break for the
Bulldogs came just before
half-time when Walsh
attempted to return a punt
from his own end zone.
Murphy halfback, Jeff Jackson,
stopped Walsh in the end zone
for a two point safety.
Robbinsville led at half-time 8
to 2.
The Bulldogs began to look
like last year's championship
team by tying the score in the
third quarter on Jackson's
three yard touchdown plunge.
The score came after a 64 yard
drive in which Jackson's fine
running gained . most of the
yardage.
The remainder of the game
was purely defensive until
Walsh scored the winning
touchdown on a ten yard romp
with approximately four
minutes left in he fourth
quarter.
The Bulldogs face the Union
County Panthers Friday night
at Blairsville.

Incident occured.
Madibum said the only
comment from Gray upon
being told that Moon had died
was, "Weil, he ougit to die."
nearing completion, Parker

Sponsored by the Andrews
Rescue Squad, theair show will
feature at least three of the
most renowned exhibition
flyers in the country, one of
which will be a woman.
"We feel that a woman
flyer, which is not too
common in our area, will add a
lot of interest to the show,"
Parker said. "And the men
flyers we have lined up are
some of the best in the
business."
There will also be a number
of jumpers on hand. However,
names of the performers are
being withheld for the time
being. They will be appearing
in the Scout, along with photos
of the craft to be used, in
