Young Republican Officers The Young Republicans in Cherokee County presented by Arthur Hays. Officers elected, left to officially organized in a meeting Tuesday Dec. 9 at right, are: William D. Davis, chairman; Phyllis the county courthouse. The business session was Goodrich, vice chairwoman; Nancy Speed, secretary; conducted by William D. Davis, acting temporary Arthur Hays, treasurer, chairman. By-laws and constitution for the club were Townson Funeral Homes JESS WINGATE Service* for Jets Wtngste, 69, of Rt. 4, who died Dec. 10, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Ranger United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. The Rev. A! Smith, the Rev. Calvin Thompson and the Rev. Jack Palmer officiated. Burial was in Snow Hill Cemetery. Member of Joe Bkins American Legion Post No. 96 were pallbearers. Mr. Wingate was a native of Oklahoma and a veteran of World War I. The only survivors are two nieces and several nephews. Townson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MISS DONALDSON Services for Miss Laura M. Donaldson, 82, of Rt. 1, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in 1L. M Little Brasstown Baptist 3iurch, of which she was a nember. The Rev, Cart Ashley and he Rev. ' Fred Lunsford tfflciated. Burial was in the ?hurch cemetery. Pallbearers vere cousins. Survivinf were several nieces rod nephews. A native of Graham County, e was a veteran of World War and a member of Long Creek laptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Irs. Bertha Gladden of Lobbinsville; two brothers, Henry of Aquone, and William Lall of Gainesville, Ga.; a niter, Mrs. Betty Ruahton of Rob b inavi11e; aeven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren Servicea were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Townaon Funeral Home. Hie Rev. Donald Colvard and the Rev. R. Earl Payne officiated. Buriai was in Old Mother Cemetery. Members of EUer-Rogers Post No. 192 of American Legion conducted military graveaide rites and served as pallbearers. Townson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MRS. JULIA CARVER Mrs. Julia Carver, 57 of Route 1, Robbinaville, died Wednesday afternoon at her home after a long illness. Surviving are the husband, Howard Carver, the father, John H. Oit of Robbinaville; two daughters, Mrs. G. D. Phillips and Mrs. Burlen Aldridge, both of Robbinsville; two sons. Max and Donald Carver, both of Robbinsville; four sisters, Mrs. Wayne Davis, Mrs. Grace Phillips, Mrs. Lynwood Maasey, all of Robbinsville, and Mrs. Ray David of Washington Ga.; Ave grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in New Hope Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Conald Colvard and the Rev. Clifford George officiated. Burial was in Massey Branch Cemetery. JONES Morgan ton, Ga. - Mrs. Luna Carolina Jones, 68 of Rte. 1, died Monday afternoon, Dec. 8 In a Copper Basin Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Cherokee County and a member of Hanging Dog Baptist C hutch. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Jones of Baltimore, Md? Mrs. Ahrin Parrish of Blairsville, Ga., and Mrs. Nellie Killian of Lakewood, Ga.; two sons, Lyle and Von Jones, both of the home; three sisters, Miss Ruth Davis and Miss Fimmie White ;pf Murphy, Mrs. Zemia Woody of Cottage Grove, Ore., two brothers, George and Isom Davis, both of Murphy seven grandchildren and five . great-grand-children. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Oak Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. A. E. Harper and Rev. Bo Davis officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Townson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MRS. LORIA EARWOOD LEXINGTON?Mis. Loria Jane Earwood, 62, died Friday evening, December 12 in a Lexington hospital after a long illness. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Irene Smith, Mrs. Mary Jane Lasmost, Mrs. Sadie Brown all of Lexington; one son, John Earwood of Lexington. Graveside services were heidat 2 p.m. Monday in Moss Cemetery in Marble. Townson Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. GEORGE A. MARTIN Services for George Alton Martin 83, of Route 2, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Notla Baptist Church, of which be was a member. The Rev. Hoyt Grown, the Rev. Calvin Thompson and the Rev. A1 Smith officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Martin was a retired carpenter, and the son of the late James Lafayette and Emma Jane Haney Martin of Cherokee County, and the hudband of the late Maude Price Martin. Surviving are four daughters.
