C, Death Claims Mrs. Stephens Mr*. Rebecca Griffith Stephens, 98 of Farner, Tenn., the last member of a Monroe County pioneer family, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Fort Sanders Presbyterian Hospital in KnoxvillevTenn. Mrs. Stephens, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elisha E. Griffith, made her home with a son-in-law and daughter. The Rev. and Mb. S. M. Wolfe of Famer for approximately the last forty years. Mr. Wolfe is pastor of the Farner Presbyterian . Church where Mrs. Stephens was an active member for many years. She was a widow, of the late H. C. Stephens of Tellico Plains, life member of Tellico Chapter No. 324, O.E.S., a school teacher and a Sunday School teacher for many years. Funeral services were held January 2 at the First United Methodist''' Church of Madisonrille with the Rev. Morgan Phillips and Dr. D. R. Greenhoe officiating. Interment was in the Old City Cemetery of Madisonville. She is survived by four daughters: Mb. S. M. Wolfe, Farner; Mb. L. L. Weaver, and Miss Lillie Stephens, Knoxville, Miss Ella Stephens, Farner; stepsons Sam E. Stephens, Knoxville; Henry Clay Stephens, Plantation, Fla; grandchildren. Miss Lina Wolfe, Knoxville; Mrs. James Lee Stokes, Charleston, S. C., Mb. David FusseU, Atlanta, Ga.; Samuel French Wolfe, Greensboro, N. C. Janice Mason In College Beauty Pageant Miss Janice Mason, daughter of Mr. and Mn. John Mason of Unaka, has been named as a contestant in the Miss Enotah Beauty Pageant at Young Harris College. Sponsored by the Enotah Year Book Sfadf and produced and directed rby the Delta Gamma Drama Society, this contest is one of 'the outstanding events that takes place each year on the Young Harris Campus. Miss Marilyn OUey, the reigning Miss Georgia will be the featured guest for the occasion. The winner will be crowned by Miss Enotah, 1969, Miss Williams.
