Johnson, state director of the Farmers Home Administration, has announced the appointment of Roy P. Clonts, of Route 2, Murphy, to the Cherokee County Farmers Home Administration County Committee for a three-year term. Clonts succeeds L.L. Dr. Taylor's Office Re-opening Dr. F.V. Taylor's office is now re-opening in the Murphy General Hospital building. The doctor's office has been closed due to illness but will now resume regular hours. Kisselburg, whose term has expired. Clonts' term of office began officially on July 1, 1970. He will serve on the three-member committee with Don Taylor and C.B. New ton. The Farmers Home Administration County Committee certifies eligibility of applicants for Farmers Home Administration loans and recommends action in making and servicing loans to the FHA County Supervisor. The Committee also advises on other activities connected with the varied programs offered by the Farmers Home Administration. ASCS Vote Scheduled An election will be held in September in Clay and Cherokee counties to select community and county ASCS committeemen. The notice of election and right to nominate was mailed to farmers last week. An eligible voter list is available in each county ASCS office. Nominating petitions for candidates to appear on the ballot will be accepted through August 17. The ballots will be mailed out on Sept. 1 and must be returned by Sept. 11. They will be counted on Sept. 15 and the new officers will take office on Oct. 1. Barbara Hogan was not present when the 1 photo was made. Townson Funeral Home ORAN PARKER WITT Oran Parker Witt, 63, of the Peachtree Community, died early Monday morning at his home. He was a native and life long resident of Cherokee County. He was a veteran of World War II and a well-known building contractor in Murphy for several years. He is survived by his wife, Vada Truett Witt; three sisters, Mrs. Kate Fanning of Rossville, Ga.. Mrs. Eloise Crisp of Murphy and Mrs. Lois Bretz of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three brothers, Bob of Murphy and Max and Oakley Witt of Toms River, N.J. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Peachtree Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester Stoweand the Rev. Robert Barker officiating and burial was in the church cemetery. Fallbearers were Rex and Ray Sudderth, Bill and Jack Fergerson and David and Edwin Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers were Neal, Ralph andAud Sudderth Verlin andMelvin Crisp, Johnnj and Gerald Wilson, Ton> Ballew, Carl Kilpatrick and Otto Grier. Townson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MRS ESTIE MAE INGRAM Mrs. Estie Mae Ingram, 86, of Andrews, died Sunday in an Asheville hospitalafter a short illness. She was a member of Old Brasstofcrn Baptist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Cora Sparks and Mrs. Vada Lee McNeal of barberton, Ohio; Mrs. Georgie Isabel! Raper of Cleveland, Ohio and Mrs. Ruby L. Younce of Aidrews; three sons, Clarence of Akron, Ohio, Howard of Marshaville, Ohio and Grady of Young Harris, Ga.; 20 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral Services were Tuesday at Old Brasstown Baptist Church, The Rev. Thomas Wells and the Rev France Postell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy, Bobby and Cale Sparks, Nelson nd Raymon Younce and Doyal McClure. Townson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
