They were accompanied by Wendell Hedden, assocation Extension agent in charge of 4-H activities and several junior leaders. Youth Council Officers The Murphy Youth Council held its organizational meeting last Thursday at the Murphy power Board. Officers elected were; left to right, Teresa Davis, president; Roy Wells, vice-president; Linda Pope, secretary-treasure; and Tim Ramsey, reporter. The tentative goal of this council is a complete recreation center for the Murphy youth. COLEMAN Mrs. Sylvia L. Coleman, 27, of Rt. 3, Murphy, died Monday afternoon in the Andrews hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Biddeford, Maine, a Registered Nurse, a graduate of Southeastern General Nursing School, Lumberton; a member of the American A.S.N, and a Charter member of the Broadway Womans Club at Broadway, N.C. She was a member of the United Methoidst Church, Biddeford, Maine. Surviving are her husband, fiarold Coleman, and her ather; Frank Ligertwood of Biddeford, Maine. Services were held at 2 >jn. JESSIE LONG GARRETT Mrs. Jessie Long Garrett, 73, of Marble, died Saturday in Buncombe County, after a short illness. She was born in Union County, Ga? but was a resident of Marble. She was the widow of lames H. Garrett, Sr., who died in April of this year. Surviving are two laughters, Mrs. Horace Rogers of Swannanoa, and Mrs. Fred Weeks of Summertown, Tenn.; hree sons, Willard Garrett of Waynesville, Owen Garrett of Hyde, and James H.
