Bumgarner, the former Tommie Lunsford of Andrews, has been selected as the Teacher of the Year at Harding High School in Charlotte. She was selected from nominations from the 1,000 students and the 64 members of the faculty. A graduate of Andrews High School. Mrs. Bumgarner received her bachelor of science degree from Mercer University and has done graduate study at Middle Tennessee University. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Lunsford of Andrews, and is married to Mr. Jerr\ Bumgarner, who is in the printing business in Charlotte. They have three daughters, Margaret 13. Sarah Jean 11, and .Aggie. 7.
