Mrs. Irene Schultz entertained Mrs. Christine Prater, Mrs. Dale Phillips, Mrs. Audery Anderson, Mrs. Eva Ledford and Mrs. Jan Martin all employees at Wachovia Bank and Mrs. Tom Day of Hayesville a luncheon at her home last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Padgett and family of Asheville visited their parents Mr. and Mrs. J. Guy Padgett and Mrs. Harley Parker before leaving for a tour - of the western states last Friday in a camper. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Tucker of Society Hills, S.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Rogers of Decatur, Ga., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Neal Rogers. Mrs. Frankie Ledford has Teturned home after a two week visit in Sierra Vista Arizona with her daughter Mrs. William lewder and granddaughter Deniese. While Mr. Lowder was in Washington D.C. on a temporary assignment. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Martin for the holidays were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lowe and family of Akron, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Martin and son of Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Mary Jo Cherry i Buckner had as her Sunday duiner guests her father Mr. | Claude Cherry who is 90 and her Uncle "Bud Cherry" who is 94, Mrs. Minnie Hyatt and Mr. and Mrs. Garland Haney. Mrs. Bobby Burch spent a few days this week in Sylva to be with her mother, Mrs. Alton Edwards who had surgery at C.J. Harris Community Hospital Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Jarrett are spending this week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Jarrett. Mr. Jarrett a native of Clay is now an Attorney at Law in Durham. He attended a lawyer's convention in Asheville enroute to Hayesville. Mrs. Ralph Penland fell in the yard at her home Saturday and broke her hip. She was rushed to Hall County Hospital where she had emergency surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Wllace Smith announce the birth of a son, July 4th in the Towns County Hospital. Mrs. Smith's parents and family are camping at Jack Rabbit and spending some time also with the Smith family. Mr. and Mrs. Roe Reese and daughter of Gastonia, Mr. and Mrs. Reese Barnard and daughter of Calhoun, Ga., are spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Barnard. Mrs. W.H Bradhsaw the former Miss Trilba York of Hayesville now living in Auburn Washington and her daughter Judy have been visiting in Clay. 8 Mr. and Mrs. Gene Bryant and children of Charlotte are visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Smmart. Mrs. J.A. Penland of Peachtree has spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. D.M. MaCorkle at Oak Forest. Thirty rr embers of the Miller Clan headed by Mrs. Eula Miller enjoyed a family picnic Sunday at the Jack Marchet campground. Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Hall and family ?i?? attended. Mrs. Ray Swaima fell at her home last week and broke her arm.
