County Drainage District Number Two
(Nahunta Swamp), will be received by
the Board of Drainage Commissioners
of said District at Goldsboro, N.'C,
up to 12 o'clock noon, September 1st,
1915, and at that time they will be
publicly opened and read.
Each proposal shall be enclosed in
a sealed envelope and addressed to
Chairman of Board of Drainage Com
missioners of Wayne County Drainage
District Number Two (Nahunta
Swamp), Goldsboro, N. C, and endors
ed "Proposals : for Construction of
Drainage Canals."
Each proposal shall be accompanied
by a certified check drawn payable to
the order of the -"Chairman Board of
Drainage Commissioners of District
Number Two," in the amount of $1,000;
this check to be as evidence of good
faith that the bidder will enter into
said contract, and to be held as liqui
dated damages -in case 'the award is
made and the contract and bond are
not entered into promptly. Checks of
unsuccessful bidders will be returned
as soon as the award is finally made.

and specifications may be seen at the
office of the Clerk of Superior Court,
Goldsboro, N. C, or at the office of
W. W. Peirce, Attorney for Board of
Drainage Commissioners, Goldsboro,
N. C, or at the office of W. K. Allen,
Superintendent of Construction, Wil
mington, N. C.
Complete sets, of maps, profiles,
specifications and blank forms of pro
posals will be furnished for $4.25 upon
application to W. K. Allen, Drainage
Engineer, Wilmington, N. C.
The approximate length of the
dredge canals is 32 1-2 miles and 5
miles of lateral ditches; and the ap
proximate yardage to be excavated is
685,489 cubic yards- . - '
The successful r bidder will be re
quired to begin work within (60) sixty
days from the date of receipt of final
notice of award of the contract, and
shall complete the work within 460
working days.
Each proposal shall substantially
conform to the plans and specifica
tions and shall liberally conform to
the Drainage Laws. No ambiguous.

Sealed proposals will be received at
the same time and place for the pur
chase of $90,000 six per cent bonds of
the Wayne county Drainage District
Number Two (Nahunta Swamp). There
is a separate notice for sealed bids for
the purchase of these bonds.

work and for the purchase of the $90,-
000 .bonds shall , be enclosed in a sep
arate sealed envelope.
The right is reserved to reject any
and all bids and to waive informali
