C., the Board of Gov ernors of the Bright Belt Ware house Association voted to delay the opening of the New Bright Belt houses until Friday of this week rather than the originally scheduled . Thursday opening. This vote was taken after Kins t o n Warehouseman George Knott, Jr. had made a motion to open as originally scheduled. Knott’s motibn caused a tie. vote to be cast and the President of the Association was forced to cast the deciding vote for the one-day delay. Official reason given for the one-day delay was a larger Georgia-Florida crop than was originally expected. • Unofficial reason for the delay waS the fact that Georgia ware housemen had pushed Georgia tobacco off their floors in order to sell Eastern North Carolina tobacco, the feeling being that they* would get the Georgia to bacco anyway and that the Caro lina week had to be gotten quick ly. Julian Fenner, Rocky Mount warehouseman, who also owns a Georgia' sales house, was absent as a member of the Board of Gov ernors but his proxy refused to vote on the Knott motion thereby causing the tie that resulted in the one-day delay. Bruae Sugg of Greenville and T. C. Carleton of Farmville joined Knott in opposing the delay.
