It is a mobile iron lung in actual op eration, the patient a 15-year old girl now recovering from an attack of polio. The first full day of the Fair on Wednesday will be taken up with the judging of the many entries in the contest classifica tions, the awards far which will scheduled by ten distributors from New Bern, Kinston, Pink Hill and Deep Run. The most active day is expect ed to be Schools Day on Friday when all pupils from Jones and surrounding counties will be ad mitted to the grounds without charge. On that day a series of contests and entertainments have been arranged. At the end of the two-month period Mrs. Hill is scheduled for admit tance to the State Sanatorium, now filled to capacity. The ma jor donor to the special fund up to the present time has been the Friendship Church, which has assured one week’s, care for the patient with a gift of <35. Chair man Lewis requests that all those who wish to aid in the worthy cause write to him or see him personally. BAPTISTS GATHERING IN TRENTON 28,29TH Trenton will be crowded on Thursday and Friday with sev eral hundred visitors. Jn addi tion to the throng attending the Third Annual Jones County Fair there more than 400 delegates to the annual convention of the At lantic Baptist Association are expected. It is the first time the gathering has been held in Tren ton. More than 10,000 Baptists in Pamlico, Craven, Carteret, Onslow and Jones Counties will be represented by the delegates. Many of the visitors are expect ed to spend Thursday night in Jones County. A barbecue din ner will be given for the dele gates on Friday night by the Trenton Baptist Church at the Close of the meeting. Prices paid to Tar Hell broiler producers during September av eraged about 28 cents per pound. There are 228 white and Negro home demonstration agents and assistants in North' Carolina.
