This association has operated the hos pital since l029, and has owned it In 1928 after three years op eration, the doctors who built the hospital found that they were less competent business men than was necessary io the successful operation al a grow ing ahd expensive plant such as a hospital. The fiscal affairs of the hospital were in sad shape, due to poor doctor-management and lack of system. In 1028 the non-profit, associa tion was chartered and leased the hospital from its owners. By 1938 the association had pro As present the assessed valua tion of the property at this med ical center is over $300,000. The directors of the association have made the final payment on the indebtedness incurred by the ex pansion program and today, for the first time in the history of the hospital it is not only out of . debt but has a tidy balance to its credit in’ the bank. But happy as this situation may sound, the situation is any thing but bright, i The kitchen and- operating facilities at the hospital were designed to take care of a 25-bed hospital so it is obvious that they are most in adequate to the job they are be ing, forced to perfor mtoday. The original wing of the build ing is not fireproof and is in a precarious condition.
