After the business) session the meeting ad journed into a social hour during which the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Barker and Catherine Par ker, served ice cream and cake. Meet The‘Baptist Missionary Union held its Christmas Party at the home of Mrs. Wayne Jarman last Wednesday evening. The 'home was decorated' with holly carrying out the Christmas col ors. Mrs. D. E. Long had charge of the program, the topic being “Christ the Answer for the World.” Mrs. A. V. Thomas helped with the program. Aft er the business session the meet ing adjourned to a social hour. Gifts were exchanged among the members supposed, but were given in the end to Mrs. Wayne Haskins, a recent bride. The so ciety also gave Mrs. Haskins a Set ‘of china. Seoul Party The Girl Scouts of Trenton Trpop 1 had their Christmas par ty Friday night; Dpc. 16, at the clubhouse. The clubhouse was decorated with holly and moss fas the occasion, Dancing and playing games were the recrea tion for the evening. Sandwich es, nuts, cookies, and punch were served by the Scout leader, Mrs. C. C. Jones. The Scouts in vited two boys and a girl for each member. Mr. and Mrs. John Hughes Pollock announce the birth of a son, John Trent, December 12, at Memorial General Hospital, Kinston. Mrs. Pollock is the for mer Virginia Bunting of New Bern. Birth and Death Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Thomas announce the birth and death of a daughter, Gloria Jean, Decem ber 11, at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bern. Mrs. Thomas is the former Nellie Littleton. V. L.
