he purchased 15 pigs for $75 to
grow with the 20 pigs farrowed
by hie two sows.
The value of grain and com
mercial feed used from Novem
ber until March 1, 1950, . the date
these 35 pigs were put on the
Laciino Clover pasture was $275.
This figure is compared with a
cost of $75. worth of commercial
feeds used from March 1950 to
May 15, 1950. the pediod these
pigs were on Ladlno Clover. Pigs
gained faster and used one-thl ld
less commercial feed while on.

Grange, N. C., used resources
from his farm to build an eco
nomical barn for his beef cattle.
Using lumber saved from timber
cut from his farm, his labor, and
a small amount of hired labor,
he built a bam suitable for hous
ing 12-15 head of cattle for less
than $200.

type of barn with Its simple con
