It is not- an unheard-of occurrence that a tomato makes its appearance on the potato vine. Here is an exainple of such a hy-* brid—a pomato—on the farm of Troy Foscue in Jones County. 'The freak' was discovered in the fieldi and was carefully trans planted for more tender care beside the home of Tenant John Kinsey. Nursing it here beside thtf house is Joseph E. V. Thomas. Those events will be the ap pearance of Senator Clyde R. Hoey, senior North Carolina U. S. Senator, to crown the beauty queen at the fair and the ap pearance of the Marine Corps Band from Cherry Point Marine Air Station. The two special e vents nave been scheduled and confirmed by State Senator John D. Larkins, Jr., of Trenton, Thom as said.
