We're sure that with Just a tew
deft strokes in the right direction
the show will become as popular on
TV as it was in radio . . . Certainly
it’s good, clean, homespun material
in the best of taste, but it needs a
little more Cowling and is sadly
missing wonderful Aunt Fanny ...
Don is still stiff and unsure of him
self but will undoubtedly grow with
the show . . . The one outstanding
performer was Johnny Desmond,
possibly because he is a television
veteran by now . . . Patsy Lee is
pretty and talented but looks un
comfortable, too.

North Carolina’s apple crop this
year is estimated at 1,184,000 bu
shels, 21 per cent greater than
average, and 164 per cent larger
than the short apple crop of
1949. The nation’s crop is expect
ed to be 11 per cent below the
1949 crop.
A deficit in the supply of
Grade A milk in North Carolina
is making milk imports neces
sary this fall. Dairy authorities
say the reason for the deficit
may be adverse weather condi
tions for pastures and increased
demand.

yet priced with the lowest
Like America's finest cars Ford offers you a
V-8 engine. No other low-priced car does.
Nor does any other car at any price offer
you a choice of V-8 or Six engines. And
remember. Ford’s V-8 costs hundreds less
than most sixes—Ford’s Six costs even less.
