Twenty-seven year old Benny Frank Mooring, a son, is under $1,000 bond charged with the actual shooting. The Marine suffered a pulverizing bone in jury just above his right ankle from a flat-nosed .22 caliber bul let. Sheriff Department officers recovered two .22 rifles that had been hidden in the woods near the Mooring home which is lo cated between Jackson Cross roads and Albritton Crossroads on the Pink Hill highway some 'four miles south, of Kinston.
