Henderson, an Air fiorce veteran and University of North Carolina scholar, has had his 'first book published by Vantage Publishing Company and aside from those, who took rather violent exception to what they insistSs a portrayal of themselves his book has been well received, and with many chuckles. On Sunday night the only missing items reported were several con tainers of motor oil and on Mon day night gasoline was the item on the thief’s agenda. Driving Violations Top Jones County’s Policing Last Week Four indictments for what are generally termed serious traffic law violators are reported for the past week in Jones County. In an unusual situation both Jaimes F. Williams and Acie Pic kett of Chinquapin route one in Duplin County are charged with drunken driving by Patrolman Burt .Mercer, who says they switched seats while he was in the act of apprehending them. Charles S. Barton of Maysville route one was arrested by Patrol man L. S. Meiggs and charged .with driving after his driver’s li cense had been revoked and Of ficer Mercer also charged Leo May cf Trent on route one with reck less driving and speeding 75 miles hour. v George Steele at the Southeast ern .Silo Construction Company in Petersburg, Va. was killed shortly after lunch time last Friday when scaffolding inside a 50-foot silo collapsed with him and two other workers. The silo of 15,000 bushel capacity is one of two under construction at the Heath Milling Company north of Kinston. Alfred Meadows and J. A. Gib son who were atop the scaffold with Steele suffered painful in juries when the main supporting rod crumpled and dumped them to the concrete floor 50 feet below. the past week to: Robert Hall, 19, of Pollocksville and Helen Dove, 18, of Trenton. Yancey one lot in White Oak Township. Child Recuperating From Auto Injuries in front of Johnny’s Drive-in on the ex tension of North Queen Street, just inside the Kinston city limits. William Wayne Tyndall of Snow Hill route two was driving the car which struck young Braxton after skidding some 37 yards. The child suffered a mild concussion and other bruises and brush burns. Tyndall was indicted for reck less driving.
