Irene Eubanks, a wilner graduate of Jones Central, who is in training to be^a nurse, came with Mrs. Skinner. \ Mrs. Skinner told the girls what subjects wore required before a person' could become a student nurse at the Lenoir Memorial Hos pital School of Nursing. Mrs. Skinner told qome of the rules and regulations that the stu dents have to follow. For example ■she said-that the students have to have the lights out by 10:30 p. m. on week nights and, by 11:00 p. m. on week-ends. She enumerated, the courses that are required for graduation and the number of hours and the cost per student for the entire three years of training. She also mentioned the fact that Lenoir Memorial Hospital School of Nursing is an accredited school. 'During the question period that followed the girls' showed interest by asking what different fields were open to a student after graduation from this school, and what were the advantages of being trained in a small school of nursing. JOYCE WHALEY TO PLAY IN TOURNAMENT Joyce Whaley, 'veteran senior guard on the Jones Central team, has received a bid to play on the BastTeam. in the girls’ East-West All-Star Tournament to be held in in March. on SSftnaay night March 15. A squad of 14 players will participate in the post-season second annual affair. Each team will be guests in private homes in Lincolnton from Wednesday through Saturday, giv ing them three days of practice. Any changes in, farming by our farmers must be, guided by this competitive market: situation. There are three things which a market must have in order to4 succeed. It must have a sufficient volume of products to enable it to operate efficiently; it must have a dependable supply in order to attract buyers; and the products | going through the market must be of a quality necessary to satisfy the consumer. Madjr adjustments have been made fat the system of marketing our farm products during the past few years; however, we must make additional changes in our market ing system to provide for efficient marketing of our present produc tion and any possible changes in production. In some cases new markets must he established and located at ^fcopefr places with adequate faci lities. Our markets must be of a size necessary to allow for effi cient opperation, and this efficien cy must be exploited in order to compete on a national market.
