Methodist WSCS has Wednesday Meeting The Web lot tin Methodist Church met last Wednesday night in the dhuftfi &kfa it members present. Mrs. Paul Huffman led the devdtMrial on “March of Mis sions in Healing”. Mrs. Syivanus Mallard then presented the pro gram with the same title. Mrs. V. L. Pollock presided over the business meeting and announc ed fire SuMMstrict meeting to be held at Asbuiy April 8th and the District meeting to be held in Jack sonville March 27th. A -committee made up of Mrs. Clifton Pollock, Mrs. W. H. Ham mond and Mrs. Lewis Dillmau was formed to nominate officers for the coming year. At the -close of the meeting, Mrs. DiMirfan served cake, nuts and fruit juice to these present. Woman’s Club Plans Its Spring Program Trenton Woman’s Club met Thursday night at the clubhouse with 11 members present. Mrs. Sam Phillips, home economics teacher at Jones Central High School was in charge of the program on “Home Furnishing”. Taking part on the program were some of her students, tielores Heath, who was narrater, Joyce | Jones, who gave the devotional, Bobby Parker, wtho rendered a solo, accompanied at the piano by Billy Parker, Elizabeth Wells who was the builder of the house and 1 Bobby Heath, who assisted Mrs. 1 Plhillips and the girls. Following the program, Mrs. Jim Allen, Mrs. W. F. Hill, Miss Zelle Pollock and Mrs. John Yates serv ed refreshments. jMJrs. Meqby Swiggett led the, business session with Mrs. Nimrod i Carroll acting as secretary m the { place of Mrs. Bill Adaims and Mrs. | Fred Pippin giving the treasurers report. * The Womans Club is sponsoring a Teen-age Club and a club mem ber and a parent is requested to attend each meeting held by the Teen-agers. A decision was made to sponsor a game and card party April 18th to raise money to make repairs on the club house. This party will be one of the Finer Carolina projects. Mrs. Rogers Pollock Hostess to Her Club The Little bridge club met Fri day night in the home cf Mr£ Rogers Pollock. Guests were Mes dames Harold Hargett. Marvin Thomas, Harold Hargett Jr., Wil son Harriett, Fred Pippin, J. R. Franck, and Hazel Turnage and’ Bill Parker. After three -progressions the hostess served peach pie with whipped cream, and coffee. Mrs. Hargett Sr. won high prize and Mrs. Pippin received low prize. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. B. B. C. Mallard will be a delegate at the annual conference of the WSCS in Fayetteville this week. • * * Mrs. Charlton West and Mrs. Fred Pippin attended the Bible School Workers School in New Bern last Wednesday at Centenary Methodist Church. Pvt. James Rhodes At Ft. Campbell, Ky. FORT CAMPBELL, KY. — Pvt. James Rhodes, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellison Rhodes of Comfort, recently was assigned to the 506th Infantry at Fort Campbell, Ky. Rhodes, a rifleman in Company B, entered the Army in August 1057 and completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S. C. He was last stationed at FV>rt Bragg, N. C. Rhodes is a 1057 graduate of Jones High School, Trenton. Airman Swinson at Oceana Air Station VIRGINIA BEACH, Va—Charles E. Swinson, airman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Swinson of Pollooksville, is serving with At tack Squadron 76 at the Oceana Naval Air Station, Virginia Beach, Va. He reported to Virginia Beach Jan. 9. Before entering the Navy in No vember 1955, Swinson attended Grainger High School in Kinston.
