M*cDaniel end Miss Jackie Jones. Two hytmns were sung and. the program was concluded with prayer.. Following the -business portion which Was conducted by Mrs. Guy Jones, they adjourned with a uni son reading of the purpose. Study Course Held Jn Maysville Church Tht Maysville Methodist Church i conducted its church wide study Course Sunday evening, February 32. Rev. D. R. SMrikle of Havelock spoke to a large crowd on Dr. Jackson's book “Stumbling Block”, which deals with alcoholism. The course-began at 7 and lasted two hours. There was a break dur ing which the WjSjC-S. served ■doughnuts and coffee in the social mom of the church. There were several visitors pre sent from the Belgrade Methodist church. ' Junior Girls Hiaye Valentine Party The Junior Girls Sunday School Cfass of the First Baptist Church met Sunday afternoon at the church with their leader Miss Rosa v, Cdlias for a Valentine party. The girls played several games and later were served refresh ments of punch, sandwiches, cookies, candy and potato chips. Those present were Wanda Beans, Doris Evans, Beulah Col lins, Sudie Batchelor, Barbara- Foy, Carolyn Foy, Barbara Budd, Shirr ley Collins, Libby King, Cathy Jones and Miss Collins. Seventh Graders are Given Valentine Party at Carr Home ’ The seventh grade of Maysviile Elementary school enjoyed a valentine party Friday night at the home of one of its students, Tracy y> Carr. Refreshments consisted of pink chiffon cake, soft drinks, candy and ice cream. Those present other than students and visitors from Jacksonville were Mrs. Mary Carr, Mrs. Laura Chap man, their teacher, her daughter and Johnny Carr. '• Mrs. Katherine Holden Hostess for Bridgge " 'Mrs. Katherine Holden enter tained the Bridge Club at her borne Wednesday evening with two tables playing. Refreshments of chocolate ke box cake topped with, whipped cream and coffee were served be fore the three progressions to Mes dames Fannie Foscue, Frances Hay, Claudia Mattocks, Evelyn Pelletier,' Sarah Pelletier, Fannie Pruitt and Joan Tedder. ' Mrs. Pruitt scored high,, Mrs. Sarah Pelletier second high and Mrs, Foscue received the bingo prize. Nuts and Cokes were served during play. PERSONALS Mr.' and Mrs. J.
