President Diane jar man called the meeting to order. Devotional was given by Eva Pol lock. it was decided that the club dis continue' meetings in June and July .and also that a recreation meeting be h.eld in August The. first aid kits, which the dub is selling, were distributed. A de monstration on “How to Apply Bias Tape to an Armhole” was given by Mrs. Pollock. The meeting adjourned following recreation led by Donna and De lores Collins. Dianne Jarman is Host to Friends For Lively Weekend Following a week of Bible School, a group of girts was invited home with Dianne Jarman' on Friday. During the afternoon they h,ad a wiener roast, and by' night were filled with a little of everything. 'But sleep — they did not. No one ever sleeps at a pajama party. , Saturday Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Jarman took the girls to .White Lake ‘for the day and' they. Wore themselves out, so when they ar rived home, they were finally tired and sleepy. Guests of Dianne were Donna, and Delores Collins, Sonia Harrison and Linda Moore. Ten, Teen-Agers Wake Up Cedar Islanders John Hughes Pollock and G. T. Koonce were brave and to6k ten teen-age boys to Cedar Island for the week. They arrived Sunday along with Mrs. Kenneth Jarman, - who is official cook for the crew, One morning of geting up at 4 o’clock to go crabbing and fishing cured neighbors, (the Pippins) who decided they couldn’t take a week of it. - . They plan to return Frday to see if anyone is left. , daughter, Mrs. Delbert Meadows. Guests of Mrs. Huffman Sunday were Mrs. J. G. Owens and daugh ter, Candy, of Casey’s Chapel. The Jason Arthur family left during the weekend for a trip to Florida. They will visit Jason’s brother and do some Sight-seeing while there. ••• Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Hines left Sunday for a two month trip in the west. They are going to Cal ifornia by the southern rotue, at tend the World Fair at Seattle and then come home by the north ern route. ' / ’ , Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Franck and faipily went to Ho Ho Villiage on Bogue Sound Saturday to spend the night with thp Ben Hester fgtnily, who spent the week there on vacation. The Hesters now live in Oxford. • * • *. The Marvin Thomas family went to White Lake Saturday and theji went to Sanford to visit Marvin’s relatives Sunday. / • • • ■ Mrs. Bill Halvosa arrived home this weekend to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom' Lowery, for part of the summer. She left hus band, Bill, back at Panama ,Canal but brought her .(new son for his first visit with his grandparents. It’s needless to say that “Grand pa” is very happy to see the little one. • • i Larry Dilda and Susie Cato of Raleigh spent Saturday ■ night with his grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Ham mond. , Mrs. E.
