House gave the devotional with scriptures selected from 2 Acts and a unison prayer for the church was repeated. ' Using the subject The Church. Beginning Where We Live, Mrs. Pelletier was leader* with parts taken by Mrs. J. H. Wynne as Mrs. Pilgrim and Mrs. C C. Damer on as Mrs. Pew. A lengthy dis cussion completed the program por tion. ' Another hymn was sung, deeds were reported and a closing pray er was offered by Mrs. House. The hostesses served sandwiches, pickles and coffee. , MYF Sees Film on ChiurcK Music Types An educational film was shown at the Sunday evening meeting of the MYF. A discussion was presented by Organist Porter Heaps dealing with church music as opposed to other - types of music and demonstrations of the various types of music play ed in different churches. He also showed the changes in church mu sic through the centuries. Throughout his discussion, he played several beautiful selections Associated with the church and gome classical arrangements. — ~ MaysvilleTTome Club Holds First Fall Meet The first meeeting of the fall of the Maysville Home Demonstration Glub was held Thursday in the so cial room of the Methodist church. • After opening with a song and devotion, Mrs. W. E. Henderson, home management leader, gave a demonstration on home appliances. “■ A committe was named to select a beauty queen for the Jones Coun ty fair to be sponsored by the club. f It was also announced that an ad* vanced sewing- class will be held at the church immediately follow lowing the close of the Jones Coun ty fair. A reading of the Club Collect concluded the meeting and Mrs. K. E. Johnson and Mrs. Wilford Phil yaw served apple pie and coffee. Mrs. William Johnson of Orrs Island, Me., was welcomed as a vis itor.
