Mattocks as co-hostess on Thursday morning. Mrs. Rob Gerock, secretary, read the minutes and called the roll. There were ten members present. F. of Maysville Meth odist Church enjoyed a skating party Friday night in Jackson ville. It seems that there is a certain machine which just isn’t too fond of me. * ♦ * Our baseball and track seasons are well under way at Jones Cen tral. Baseball games scheduled for next week are as follows: April 5, Camp Lejeune, Here; April 6, Kinston, there; April 7, James Kenan, Here. Our Rockets travel to South Lenoir for a track meet on April 6. We would like to welcome to the JC faculty Mrs. Gladys Oak ley. Mrs. Oakley holds a master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from East Carolina College, and she will be direct ing the Remedial Reading Pro gram at Jones Central. It seems that there was some mix-up at the District Science Fair, and Wal ter was named this week as one of the winners in the Senior Phy sical Division. This means he will be competing in the North Caro lina State Science Fair to be held this weekend at N. C. State University in Raleigh. Walter’s project is entitled “A Contin uous Wave Diode Laser.” Wonder... Jerry Smith Takes Leadership Course In Air Force School Airman First Class Jerry H. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hil ory B. Smith of Rt. 4, Kinston, has been graduated from Air Force Noncommissioned Officer Leadership School at Robins AFB, Ga. Airman Smith, who was train ed in military management and supervision, is a supply inven tory specialist at Brookley AFB, Ala. He is a member of the Air Force Logistics Command which insures that USAF combat and support units are fully supplied and equipped at the least possi ble cost. The airman is a graduate of Oak Ridge Military Institute. His wife, Patricia, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Murray of 3107 Ralston Road, Mobile, Ala.
