Vice President

Capital Consortium, Inc. seeks a senior executive with supe
rior staff management skills and solid experience in fund
raising and related consulting for non-profit organizations.
In business for more than a decade, Capital Consortium is
North Carolina’s largest firm specializing in fund raising
consulting, publications and research.
The Vice President will supervise a staff of fourteen in the
planning and implementation of major fund raising cam
paigns and studies for clients in North Carolina, the
Southeast and the nation. The Vice President will serve as
the chief strategic planner for each project, leading staff
teams to build and implement successful plans for clients in
education, health sciences, culture/arts, environment,
religion and social services.
We are looking for a first-rate development professional with
fifteen years of experience as a leader in the non-profit sec
tor; at least one-half of that time should have been devoted to
capital campaign direction, either as a senior staff member
or a consultant. The successful candidate should be recog
nized by his/her peers as an innovative planner, a proven
fund raiser, and an accomplished motivator of staff and
volunteer leaders. We are looking for a person who can be a
mentor for our talented consulting staff and a
superb problem-solver for our clients.
Serious candidates should be prepared to make a significant
and lasting career commitment as a senior partner in the
company. The compensation package will include a salary in
the range of $65,000 to $85,000, annual profit sharing, health
and retirement benefits.

Parish/School Director of Development
Our Lady of Lourdes is a Roman Catholic parish in Raleigh serving 1,300
families. The parish school (K-8) currently enrolls 460 children with a pro
jected maximum enroliment of 540 by 1996. A major capital campaign lor
significant expansion of the school campus is being initiated.
The parish/school seeks candidates for director of development with strong
leadership ability who place high priority on building community as a new
development office is being launched. ResponsibiUties are management of a
capital campaign, annual giving, alumni association and “Friends of Lourdes
School” support group. Tasks also include preparation of publications and
grant proposals, public relations, and participation in long-range planning.
Characteristics required are expertise and experience in educational and
general fund-raising, strong communication, interpersonal and organization
al skills, writing and computer proficiency. Experience working snccessful-
ly with volunteers and an energetic and flexible approach In tackling a vari
ety of tasks are essential. Salary commensurate with experience.

for the position of Assistant Dean for Development.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished fund
raiser with capital campaign and major gift experi
ence. This person will be an energetic self-starter
with the ability to serve as a member of the UNC
School of Law's senior management teem.
The Assistont Dean for Development is responsible
for major gift fund raising and planned giving ot the
law school, and oversees a staff of four who work in
Alumni Affairs, the Annual Fund, ond Public
Relations. He or she will serve as the primary liai
son with the University's Office of Development and
will function as an integral member of a compus
team that is conducting a $400 million campaign in
celebrotion of the University's 200th birthday. The
campaign, which is in its final year, bos raised over
S350 million to dote. The School of Law has raised
S11.7 million toward its recently-increased
goal of $12 million.
Successful candidofes should hove a college degree
with D minimum of three to five years experience in
development, preferably in higher education fund
raising. Additional qualifications include initiative,
management and inter-personal skills, and writing
and public speaking abilities.
