Burns on Mon day afternoon at three o’clock. A short business session was held. The study course for the quarter was Started. “Personal Service” is the topic for study. Following the program the hos tess served a delicious sweet course to the following: Mesdames J. T. Wade, J. H. Bass, Robert Bums, Curtis Oakley, E. V. Boat wright, J. W. Montague, Sr., Lundie Harris, Willie Pettigrew, Melvin Clayton, Mollie Barrett, Arch Jones, F. W. A. Mills, J. M. Pass and B. B. Knight. ' o Miss Ella Wilkerson Is Hostess ' Miss Ella Wilkerson entertained a few of her friends at her country home on the Lock Lilly Road last Friday evening. The living room was very attrac tively decorated in Valentine deco rations. Various games, contests, and stunts were pulled off during the evening and the affair proved to be quite enjoyable for all those present. The hostess served her guests a delicious salad course followed by a sweet course. Those present were: Misses Lucille Long, Libby Pulliam, Etta Monk, Dorothy War den, Melba O’Brien, Annie Lee Newman; Messrs. Red Malette, Jack Cottingham, R. E. Daniel, Ralph Tucker, and John Wesley Jones. o Anograms Is Enjoyed Mrs. A. F. Nichols was hostess to her club at her home on Acade my street on last Friday evening. Anograms was enjoyed at two tables arranged in the nicely ap pointed living room. Mrs. E. B. Craven was high scorer for the evening. Burns is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Burns of Dawson, Va. He is at present doing post-gradu s ate work at Duke University, Dur - ham, N. C.
