PERSONALS Mr. James Garrett spent Sunday In Hillsboro, N. C. Miss Mary Jones and Mr. John Wesley Jones spent Monday of this week in N. C. Miss Pauline Jones of that city returned home with them to visit for some time. Mr. Stokes Brooks and Little Miss Emma Bailey Jones were Rich mond, Va. visitors the past week end. Joyner spent Sunday visiting relatives in Nash ville, N. C. Mr. Gilbert Oakley is a patient at Memorial hospital, Danville, Va. where he underwent an operation for appendicitis last Friday. He is expected to return to his home here the latter part of this week. Mr. S. D. Kennington of West Jefferson, N. C. spent the week-end here visiting friends. Miss Maude Clay is visiting Mrs. Edwin Harris of Durham, N. C. this week. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Young and son, Dewey, Jr., spent a few days last week in Clarksville, Va. visiting relatives. Miss Broxie Meadows is spending this week in Moriah, N. C. visiting her mother. Miss Lorena Wade spent the past week-end in Nashville, N. C. as guest of Miss Minnie McGregor. Mrs. A. C. Gentry spent Sunday in Milton, N. C. Misses Ernestine Wilkerson and Rosa Yarborough of this city and Messrs. J. Richard Faulkner and Hugh Smith of Henderson, N. C. spent the past week-end in Newport News and Ocean View, Va. Mrs. Mollie Pointer and daughter and granddaughter, of Petersburg, Va. are visiting relatives in the county for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Franklin and Mr. Wiley Franklin of Chapel Hill, N. C. were visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Moore over the week-end. Miss Anne Briggs Moore returned home with them after visiting there for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Swatz left Sun day for a two week’s visit to Roa noke, Va. Miss Lottie Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Bass and Mrs. W. T. Daniel spent Sunday in Creedmoor and Durham, N. C. Mrs. Stonewall Jackson and child ren, Reginald and Mary Joe, are spending this week visiting relatives in Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Harvey and little daughter, Patsy, returned to their home in Max Meadows, Va. Sunday. They have been the house guests of Mrs. R. C. Hall for the past week. Mrs. L. C. Crabtree of Durham, N. C. visited in the home of Mrs. R. C. Hall here Tuesday. Mr. Charles Wood was a Durham visitor on Wednesday of this week. Miss Mamie Love Barnejtt spent the week-end in Henderson, N. C. visiting her sister, Mrs. N. B. Tuck. Mrs. Henry Walker and son have returned after visiting in Winston- Salem for several days. Mr. F. H. Walker is a patient at Watt’s hospital, Durham, where he is recovering from a major opera tion. Miss Mae Hobgood has returned home from M. T. S. T. C. to spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Hobgood. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Oakley spent Tuesday in Raleigh visiting Mr. and M!rs. K. H. Oakley. Mr. M. R. Satterfield spfent Tues day in Raleigh, N. C. on business. Mrs. Claude M. Andrews of Talle hassee, Fla. is spending some time visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Wilkerson. Miss Eleanor Thompson has re turned to her homt; in the county after spending this week with her uncle, Mr. N. S. Thompson on So. Main street. Mrs. J. M. Featherston spent Tuesday in Raleigh, N.
