EFFORTS BEING MADE
TO SECURE NEW BANK
Proposed Institution Would be
National Bank With $50,000
Capital Stock and $i 0,000
Surplus.
The news has recently been re
leased of the efforts of several in
dividuals in Roxboro to establish
another bank here. If their efforts
are successful, the new bank will
be a National bank.
Present plans indicate that the
new bank, if organized, would be
located in the old First National
Bank building which will be re
modeled.
Efforts are being made to get
people to subscribe for stock in the
proposed bank to the extent of
$50,000 capital stock and SIO,OOO
surplus. It is reported that over
half of this stock has been sub
scribed to.
The committee that has charge
of the selling of stock is composed
