By means of this unique test on a passenger car rear axle, set up in the laboratory of the Chevrolet Gear and Axle
PLut in Detroit, twelve gauges measure every possible deflection assumed by the parts in the rear axle under a given
load condition. A weight is hung on the end of the drive shaft that corresponds to a maximum load on the axle
during actual driving conditions. All movements or deflections of the drive shaft, pinion and ring gears, and axle
shafts are then read simultaneou ‘y. Such minute and constant checking results in better mounting of bearings, that
serves to prolong axle life and insure more satisfactory service. In this picture are Leo B. Olick (left) and Jack Kelly.

In accordance with a recent a
mendment to the milk ordinance,
Quail Roost Dairy and Roxboro
Dairy Products Co., which handles
Quail Roost milk, are not under
supervision by the Health Depart
ment. Their milk is produced under
other supervisions in accordance
with 'standard but
falls short of Grade A requirements
due to lack of provisions for taking
temperatures and making bacteria
logical examinations of the milk at
time of delivery.
In announcing these grades, Dr.
A. L. Allen, Asst. District Health
Officer gave high praise to the lo
cal dairies making Grade A, stating
that they have given the health de
partment splendid cooperation, and
