Jack Winstead of Milton is spending the weekend here with his sister, Mrs. J. C. Walker. Mrs. Rdbert Hambrick and children are visiting Dr. W. R. Hambrick here. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Spencer attended the graduating exercises of Medical College of Virginia, in Richmond, Tuesday. Their daughter, Miss Marie Spencer, was a member of the graduating class. l&r. and Mrs. H. W. Gentry, Jr. left Friday for an extended trip into the western part of the United States. They expect to be gone about two weeks. Miss Mary Hester, Miss Mar garet Hester and Frank Hester, Jr. have returned home for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Katz of At lanta, Ga., were guests of Rev. and Mrs. W. F. West this week. They were on their way to Bal timore to attend the Southern Baptist Convention. Mrs. Katz is a niece of Mrs. West and is known from her previous visits to Rox boro. Miss Louise Hall, who has been attending school at W. C. U. N. C. has returned to her home at Woodsdale for the summer. Richard Long, student at Wood berry Forest, will spend his sum mer vacation here. Mesdaimes R. A. Whtifield, R. C. Hall, Hubert CPBriant and Ada Dickerson spent a few hours in Raleigh Wednesday. Zanuck’s production of “Lillian Russell,’’ the 20th Cen tury-Fox picture featuring Alice Faye, Don Ameche, Henry Fonda and others, which is at the Pal ace theatre Monday and Tuesday. McGuire estimated that he used 1,800 pencils for the task. The completed script comprised a pile of writing - paper measuring 18 inches high. Also prominently featured in the cast are Edward Arnold fas Diamond Jim Brady), Warren William, Leo Carrillo and many others. Irving Cummings direct ed the film. Gen Markey was associate prorducer. Miss Clayton Is Honored At Home In celebration of her 11th. birthday Miss Mona Grachel Clayton was honored by her mo ther, Mrs. J. W. Clayton Wednes day night at Roxboro Community house.
