November 19, from eight until 10:30 o’clock. Invitations were issued during the past week. Mr. Noell, editor of the Roxboro Courier and a former State senator from Per son county, and Mrs. Noell, the former Miss Nelia Holman, were married on November 19, 1390. Tommy Pridgen Has Birthday At Olive Hill Home Little Tommy Pridgen celebrat ed his seventh birthday at his home in Olive Hill community Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4. A. Cole was hostess to the Study Club at her home cn Lawau St. Thursday afternoon at 3:30. The house was attractively decorated with chrysanthemums in various colors. The meeting was presided aver by Mrs. T. T. Mitchell. After the roll call was answered with curent events, routine business was discussed. A humorous amateur program was given by all present, under the director of Mrs. T. C. Brooks. Mrs. Cole then invited the guests into the dining room where she served a delightful salad plate, coffee and plum pudding. Literary Society Dance Is Given I High Point, Nov. The Ak-' rothinian Literary Society spon-j sored a dance at the Sheraton Hotel Saturday night, November 9. This was the first off-campus dance for High Point College, since school opened in September.! Clarence Leonard and his “Dawn Breakers”, popular cam-1 pus band, furnished music for the! affair. This band recently played for a student chapel program and proved immediate favorites with the student body.
