I Roxboro, N. C.
Dear Sir:
; a Person County citizen in
terested in the “Appreciation
Days” being held in Roxboro, I
am wondering if some plan could
not be worked out whereby
County (that is out of town citi
zens) not able to be present at
time gifts are distributed, could
not be declared recipients of
one-half of values offered? j
I, myself, find it impossible to
be present each day and I am
sure other County residents will
often find themselves in the same
position.
Sincerely .yours,
JESSE ROGERS, j

was enjoyed by all.
After a short business session
the meeting was turned over to
Miss Velma Beam, who urged the
buying of U. S. Saving Bonds.
She also spoke about proper
storage of foods, vegetables and
clothing. She said, “I keep re
ferring to the way the John B.
Bradsher’s store their tomatoes,
apples, and pears in their base
ment. They have planks suspend
ed from the ceiling with wires
and the tomatoes or fruits placed
on them.” These' planks have
been in use in the family for
many years The minature clos

showed how to build an extra
closet in the home at very lit

better material at a greater cost.
Next meeting will be Novem
