Attending the football game yesterday at Wake forest were W. D. Merritt and Maynard C. Clayton. Mr. and Mrs, Wilmer E. Ma lone and their son, Mike, will leave this week to establish res idence in Edenton. Now at home here are Mrs. Sam Byrd Winstead and small daughter, Margaret Suzanne, who have been at Watts hospital, Durham. •■ 1 ' " Here for a week-end visit is Billy West, of Wake Forest, son of Rev. and Mrs. W. F. West, A. C. Fair is in New York City on a business trip. Bailey, of Bethel Hill, has since the death of her parents lived in Roxboro. where she is a popular member of the younger social set. Garrett, Jr., Marry At Furman Cf interest throughout the East ern part of the State and in Rox boro is announcement of the mar. riage of Miss Eva Inez Brewer, of Roxboro and Dunn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Brewer, of Princeton, to Charles Copeland Garrett, Jr., of Roxboro, son of Mr. and Mrs, C. C. Garrett, of this City, in Greenville S. C., on Sun day, October 19th. The vows were heard at 5 o’- | clock by Professor • Guy A. Gul lick, former member of the fac ulty of the law school at Furman University, at his residence near the University campus. Mrs. Garrett, who received her degree in nursing from Park View' hospital, Rocky Mount, was until recently connected with the nurs ing staff of Community hospital Roxboro, although for the past two months she has been with a hospital in Dunn. She chose for her wedding a travel dress of green, with brown hat and acces sories. Her corsage was of talis man roses Mr. Garrett, a graduate of Rox boro high school, is an alumnus of Furman University, and is now connected with Collins and Aikman Corporation, Ca-Vel. Mr. and Mrs. Garrett will be at home in Roxboro. Their wedding trip was to the Eastern part of North Carolina. - Miss Brewer And J. T. Bradsher, Jr., Say Their Vows Gs interest to friends was the marriage of Miss Hannah Agnes Brewer, daughter of J. M. Brew jer and the late Mrs. Brew er, of Roxboro, to John Tinsley Bradsher, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Bradsher, of this City, on Sunday morning, October 19, at 9:30 o’clock, at Creedmoor, at the residence of the officiating min ister, the Rev. E. B. Craven, of the Methodist church, a former pastor of the bride. Mrs. Bradsher, member of a prominent Person County family, chose for her nuptials a blue trav el suit with brown accessories and a corsage of red roses. She is a graduate of Roxboro high school and is an alumna of Eastern Car olina Teachers’ College, Green ville. Mr. Bradsher, associated with his father’s business, is also a Roxboro high school graduate. After their return from a North ern wedding trip the young cou ple will be at home in Roxboro at the residence of the bride groom’s parents on High SchooL drive.
