In 1941 and 1942 mills with one-third less .spindles, the industry consumed more than twelve billion pounds of the white fiber. Cotton supply parachutes are being used increasingly in the .South Pacific to serve the na tion's fighters in lonely outpcstsi and advanced positions. These parachutes deliver food, arms, ammunition, etc. Treated cotton fabrics form an important part of the inflatable life boats and rafts which have saved the lives ts so many Amer ican seamen and aviators over the last two years. To protect soldiers from the dread malarial mosquitos of the tropics, the Army has developed special cotton gloves. The gloves are lightweight for maximum coolness, yet thick enough to prevent the penetration of a mos quito’s stinger. Cotton jungle bags are being t'sed in large quantities by A merican soldiers in beth Africa and the South Pacific. The bags are extremely good for carrying dehydrated rations under hot, humid conditions or toting sup plies through streams in tropical jungles. Hovis, pastor of Antioch Baptist church, will be in charge of a revival service to be held at that church, begin ning Sunday night, May 23, at 7:45 o’clock and continuing throughout the week each night at the same hour. On Sunday, May 30, there will be an all-day service, with baslktct luncheon. Morning service on that date will be at eleven o’clock and af ternoon service at two. Sunday school each Sunday, with N.
