Warren Wilson Defeats Swannanoa Nine, 3-2 0 By Quentin Enloe The fast-stepping Warren-Wil son College baseball team defeat ed Swannanoa high school’s vars ity last week, 3-2, on the college diamond. Less than 500 college fans watched the fray. Warren-Wilson, bouncing on Norman Ayers tall right-hander, scored all three markers in the third frame. Lefty Gene Harper marched into the fray during the fourth inning, but went to an ear ly shower with the bases loaded in the fifth. Swannanoa dented the rubber in the sixth inning. Doe Edmonds opened the frame with a scream ing single into centerfield terri tory. Warren Wilson’s Bartemus, huge southpaw slanter, walked Hardin after Edmonds had stole the second sack. Bailey popped up to the shortstop, but Kenny Mills, leading hitter of the day, sent a sharp single to leftfield, Ed monds and Hardin scampering home with the locals’ only runs of the day.
