January 26, and attended the
Third Advisory Committee meet
ing of Zone 6 there.
On Tuesday night he spoke to
the Stanley club. He was accom
panied by Mrs. Sanders.
On February 5, (tonight) Mr.
Sanders will speak to the Valdese
club.
Prayer Service
Will lie At Orphanage
The mid-week prayer service
will not be held at the Black
Mountain Presbyterian church
during the months of February
and March. The service will be
held at the Mountain Orphanage.
Those who attend the service at
the church are urged to partici
pate in the service at the or
phanage. This is an opportunity
to see and become better ac
quainted with the work there.
GUESTS FROM ALASKA
Dr. and Mrs. Remsen Behrer
from Anchorage, Alaska, are visit
ing Mi. and Mrs. J. W. Ager. Dr.
Behrer, who has been serving
with an army hospital there, will
go soon to a Long Island, N. Y.
hospital for a year. Mrs. Behrer
who has been secretary to the
engineer and chief of the Alaska
Airlines, will remain here for a
visit, after which she will join her
husband.

drift aimlessly through school.
During the past week a savory
aroma was noticed in the vicinity
of the Home Ec. Lab. and upon
investigating, we found the ninth
grade girls experimenting in the
culinary art.
Thelma Brooks celebrated her
fifteenth birthday Saturday night
by having a party. The various
types of entertainment gave her
guests a hilarious good time, and
Thelma was repaid with many
lovely birthday gifts. A buffet
supper was served to the follow
ing guests—Joyce Silvers, Ruth
Bartlett, Wilma Justus, Mary
Frances Bunnell, Barbara Wade,
